Supporting Parents to
Support their Young People

Parenting a young person can be both rewarding and challenging—especially when your child is struggling emotionally, mentally, or socially. As a parent or caregiver, you may sometimes feel unsure of how best to support them, or feel overwhelmed by the complexities of their needs.
Through Parent Consultations, I offer a safe, confidential space for parents and caregivers to explore their concerns, gain insight, and receive guidance in supporting their young person's emotional and mental wellbeing.
How I Can Support You as a Parent?
Parent consultations are tailored to your unique family dynamics, your young person's developmental stage, and the specific challenges you're facing. Some of the ways I can support you include:
1. Understanding Emotional and Mental Health Needs
Helping you make sense of your young person's behaviors, feelings, and needs.
Exploring the impact of trauma, life changes, or identity exploration on your young person.
Providing psychoeducation around mental health, emotional regulation, and resilience.
2. Strengthening Communication and Connection
Supporting you to create safe, open, and non-judgmental conversations with your young person.
Exploring ways to strengthen your relationship and build trust.
3. Supporting You as the Parent or Caregiver
Holding space for your feelings of overwhelm, fear, guilt, or frustration.
Empowering you to navigate your own emotional responses while supporting your child.
Offering strategies to care for yourself while parenting through difficult times.
4. Navigating Support Systems
Helping you understand when and how to seek further support for your young person.
Guiding you through conversations with schools, professionals, or services when needed.
